“They shall build houses and inhabit them.” — Isaiah 65:21

🏜️ Did you know Nevada is short more than 84,000 affordable rental homes for low-income families?

At LEAN, we believe housing is more than a political issue — it’s a spiritual one.
Everyone deserves a safe, stable, affordable place to call home.

Our Lutheran faith calls us to build a Nevada where families aren’t forced to choose between rent and food, or stability and survival.

🏠 Join our advocacy efforts for housing justice today. Let’s make sure everyone has a place to call home.

Presiding Bishop of the ELCA

Lutheran Engagement and Advocacy in Nevada joins the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in celebrating the election of Bishop Yehiel Curry as its new presiding bishop.

Bishop Curry is a longtime pastor, community organizer, and—as he shared in his remarks at the ELCA Churchwide Assembly—a mission developer at heart. His leadership is rooted in faith, shaped by service, and animated by the biblical call to love mercy, do justice, and walk humbly with God. We also extend our profound gratitude to Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton for her 12 years of devoted leadership.

How to Get Your Member of Congress to Cosponsor the MODERN WIC Act

Join Bread for the World organizers and advocates to learn best practices for securing your member of Congress as a cosponsor on the MODERN WIC Act. As advocates, we have the goal of moving our decision-makers to take action to address food insecurity. With this goal, a main ask of our in-district meetings this year will be requesting cosponsors of the MODERN WIC Act, and it is a request that can also be made outside of a meeting through emails and calls with the office. Come to learn how to research your legislator, how to learn more about WIC both nationally and locally, and how to frame the conversation based on your legislator’s political priorities.
