Tragically, three lives have been lost this morning and several critically injured in Reno in yet another act of gun violence.

Our heart breaks and we pray for the victims, their families, and our entire community. Reno is strong — but we are not immune to the epidemic of gun violence gripping this nation.

We cannot accept this as normal. Not here. Not anywhere.

The Sierra Pacific Synod of the ELCA is one of several plaintiffs in a civil suit filed this morning in the Federal Court in Massachusetts against the Department of Homeland Security and Kristi Noem in her official capacity as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
