ACLU of Nevada is suing the Nevada DMV for refusing to turn over public records about its communications with ICE, which seemingly include references to a Signal group between DMV staff and ICE officials. Public records belong to the people. Follow ACLU of Nevada for updates.
We are not called to turn away from suffering. We are called to stand with the hurting, to listen to the silenced, to move toward justice with courage.
Let this be a moment to reflect:
What systems are you being asked to challenge?
Whose pain are you being called to witness—and transform?
Faith isn’t passive. It’s revolutionary.
LEAN exists to amplify the voices of Nevadans on the margins.
On August 15, 2021, the government of Afghanistan fell under Taliban control—launching a massive evacuation effort that began to bring more than 76,000 Afghans to safety in the United States.
Now, four years later, Afghan allies and community members are once more at grave risk.
Afghans still waiting on a permanent status are now facing the end of their humanitarian parole—jeopardizing their work permits, drivers’ licenses, and, for many, legal immigration status. Without these essential protections, a source of income, or access to basic services like healthcare, they face hunger, homelessness, and even deportation.
The administration also ended Temporary Protected Status for Afghanistan, which gives those whose country is unsafe to return to protection from deportation and eligibility for work authorization. While it’s currently being litigated, Afghans with TPS have lost those protections, too.
Join Global Refuge in defense of protections and pathways for our Afghan allies!
