If the Trump administration chooses not to fund SNAP in November, benefits may be delayed but will be reimbursed once the shutdown ends,” reads this post from FRAC of which the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is a supporter. It continues: “USDA must use every available mechanism, including utilizing its contingency reserves, to prevent hunger and uphold its responsibility to the American people.”

LEAN is standing with advocates across the country and Nevada to say that hunger is a policy choice.

USDA has the authority to sustain SNAP, just as it has in past shutdowns.
