The “One Big Beautiful Bill” signed by President Donald Trump earlier this month is likely to upend the food assistance program that serves 1 in 6 Nevadans, with expanded work requirements threatening thousands of recipients’ eligibility and the state expected to shoulder more of the program’s administrative costs.

Presiding Bishop Eaton has released a statement on the attack on Holy Family Church in Gaza.

The statement reads in part: “As Christians, we are called to uphold the sacredness of human life, a tenet of our faith that we share with neighbors of many other faiths around the world.”

This session, led by Bishop Atahualpa Hernández Miranda (Evangelical Lutheran Church of Colombia) will focus on the assembly theme through the lens of war/conflict & reconciliation. The Bible text is Genesis 33, with the study title: Ver tu rostro es ver el rostro de Dios. (Seeing your face is seeing the face of God.)

The webinar will begin with a 30-minute presentation from Bishop Hernández Miranda (in Spanish with English subtitles). Then attendees will be invited to participate in a 15-minute live question-and-answer forum with the Bible study presenter, moderated by the Rev. Dr. Chad Rimmer.
