How to Sort Through Misinformation & Disinformation

In today’s world, false information spreads quickly. But don’t worry—here’s how you can stay informed and protect yourself:

Check the Source: Always verify the credibility of the source. Is it a reputable organization or individual?

Cross-Check Facts: Look for multiple sources reporting the same info. If it’s true, it’ll be reported by others too.

Be Skeptical of Sensational Headlines: Clickbait and emotional language often hide the truth. Dig deeper!

Check Dates & Context: Sometimes old stories are recycled or taken out of context to mislead.

Ask Experts: When in doubt, seek out experts or fact-checking websites to confirm the info.

Don’t get caught in the misinformation trap. Stay informed, stay critical, and always think before you share!

Nevadans need investment and not cuts

As grocery prices continue to rise, food support for families is being gutted. Under the guise of “reducing government fraud,” these cuts will leave thousands of families scrambling to keep food on the table.

In Nevada alone, more than 133,000 people are at risk of losing benefits because of the so-called One Big Beautiful Bill.

And it gets worse: starting in 2027, the state’s share of SNAP costs will jump by 50% as the federal government reduces its coverage—placing an enormous burden on Nevada’s budget and families who rely on these programs.

Now is the time to raise our voices: protecting SNAP means protecting families, children, seniors, and neighbors from hunger.

VETO ALERT: AB217

A bill designed to bring real change and protection to all of our kids in our communities.

AB217 was created to ensure our kids felt safe at school regardless of their immigration status, something Gov. Lombardo failed to do so.

LEAN will continue to push policies that reflect the wellbeing of families next session, the fight is not over yet.

The West is Running Dry.

Western states are experiencing shrinking reservoirs and increasingly severe droughts, putting communities, farms, and ecosystems under strain. But there is hope: through conservation, smart water management, and supportive policies, we can protect this vital resource.

Every action counts—from reducing water waste at home to advocating for sustainable solutions at the state level. By working together, we can safeguard water for our families, our communities, and generations to come. The West can thrive again—and it starts with the choices we make today.
