As Pride Month comes to a close, we are reminded of an important step Nevada took during the last legislative session. The Legislature passed a resolution formally recognizing the Fruit Loop as a historic LGBTQ+ landmark in Nevada.
Located in Las Vegas, the Fruit Loop has long served as a vibrant center for LGBTQ+ businesses, gathering spaces, advocacy, and community organizations. For decades, it has been a place of celebration, resilience, and belonging for countless Nevadans.
Recognizing the Fruit Loop as a historic landmark affirms that Nevada’s story is enriched by the experiences and contributions of all its communities. When we preserve and honor the histories of LGBTQ+ Nevadans, we strengthen our shared understanding of who we are and the diverse voices that have shaped our state.
